dreamwishdo asked me about books that I would like to see turned into movies/tv shows. These two immediately popped into my head, as I've read them more than once and they're all utterly amazing and should be turned into movies. Rants about books ahead!
The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay:
I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.
This book is on the top of my list to be made into a movie. If I had to pick a dream cast, it would be Ksenia Solo and Dylan O'Brien just because. It was just one of those books that screamed "make me into a movie!" The first time I read it, I was totally thrown by the ending, but then when I went through it a second time I realized all the signs were there. I would watch this over and over.
A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice:
The words Stephen shares with his childhood pals in a stormy New Orleans cemetery give them courage. But once they enter the prestigious Cannon School, everything changes. Brandon and Greg rise in popularity by bullying Stephen mercilessly. Meredith, once Stephen’s trusted ally, throws horrible slurs at him and turns away from their friendship.
Let me tell you about this book ok? It was amazing! Christopher Rice (Anne Rice's son) writes some of the best books, it was a choice between this one and The Snow Garden, but this one...wow. I would love to see this turned into a movie, it's got everything; great plot, suspense, characters I want to murder because they're evil! It would make a great movie. Dreamcasting this movie would probably take me over the limit on Livejournal though.
